Velvety Goodness

Velvet seems to be everywhere at the moment! It's perfect for the Christmas season, very luxurious & festive! I definitely wouldn't recommend going top to toe velvet, as you could end up looking dated, but I think a velvet dress with great accessories is an absolute must this A/W.

Xtra Factor presenter Caroline Flack at the Breaking Dawn premier teaming her gorgeous Topshop playsuit with nude heels. On another note, anyone else finding her relationship with Harry Styles completely gross?!
Hayden Panettiere at the GQ XLV Super Bowl Party in the Twenty8Twelve Mia Dress. LOVE this dress!
Model/Actress Milla Jovovich looks every inch hollywood glamour in the gorgeous Prada gown at the American Museum of Natural History.

Here are some of my picks from the high street

Dress of the Week

I've just come across the most gorgeous clothing shop after reading a post on Gem Fatale's blog.
This one is definitely going on my Christmas list, which I am soon to staple to my boyfriends hand so he won't forget!

Louche Shena Velvet Collar Dress

There are so many things I love about this dress! The peter pan collar, the velvet, the bow, the hem line I love it!!
Wear with tights and ankle boots for a cute winter look.
Brown Platform Ankle Boots
£84.99

On another note, how amazing are these shoes!!!
Dark Purple Gem Wedge Ankle Boots
£100

Impossible to walk in, but so so gorgeous!

Haul - Christmas is coming!

I picked up a few bits in town over the weekend and had a few parcels delivered so I thought I would share with all you beautiful followers!

Apologies in advance for the shoddy camera work. My camera is pretty crappy on the odd occasion when it decides to work and my photography skills are piss poor due to spending most of my GCSE photography lessons as far away from the classroom as possible! I know that blogs looks a million times better with gorgeous pictures that have been edited and I'm very jealous of you girls & guys that are that are nifty with a camera, but I'm just not that way inclined. Plus, my ex boyfriend was a photographer and once he released his inner evil the ounce of interest I had in becoming the next Ansel Adams was completely lost.

Anyway, on with the haul!

I had my hair dyed blonder recently, and my amazingly wonderful hairdresser recommended this gorgeous smelling shampoo and conditioner. It's purple and helps to tone the brassy yellowy colour that can come from dying dark hair lighter, and it really works! I've been using it for about a week and my hair has gone such a gorgeous tone and feels super soft.
Pro:voke Touch of Silver Daily Maintenance Shampoo & Conditioner
£1.99 each.
They were from my local boots pharmacy and I can't find them on their website, but you can grab them here.

Lush is one of my all time favourite shops, and I popped in to grab the Snow Fairy shower gel which is my ultimate favourite. I also went to grab my favourite toner 'Popular Toner' which has been my favourite for a while now, but I was distracted by the 'Breath of Fresh Air' toner which smells amazing and is great for dry skin like mine, perfect!
Snow Fairy Shower gel 250g - £5.95
Breath of Fresh Air 100g - £3.75

Thank you all SO much for your recommendations on foundation! I decided to take myself off to Chanel for a bit of VIP treatment. The lady in House of Fraser was so nice, and found a foundation that was exactly the right colour and coverage, I love it! I decided to go for Vitalumiere Aqua in B10. It a water based foundation so it's really great for dry skin, and it's really light but gives a flawless coverage. I'm in love, but a little worried that I'm going to find myself at the Chanel counter a little more than my bank will allow.
Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua 30ml - £31

I decided to pick up some baby shampoo from Tesco to clean my make up brushes with, after reading the tutorial on Nicola's Lala Land

I also bought the Storm palette by Sleek. I've only recently discovered Sleek and I'm really in love with their eye shadows and lipsticks! Lovely and pigmented, I use my natural palette everyday and I think this one is definately going to be well used!

Now for my deliveries :) I bought the Louise Walsh brush set from Groupon at the beginninng of September and it arrived last week, not fantastic but I'm over it! It's RRP £80 and Groupon were offering it for £20 so I thought I'd snap it up! All my brushes are rubbish and usually leave hair all over my face, so I thought I'd treat myself! It's a great selection and it's really handy have them in a roll case. Fantastic quality, lovely and soft and don't shed hairs!

Then came the Avon Glazewear Silky Shine lipstick. I was looking for a lipstick to wear to my very important cabin crew interview next week (if I don't get it then I'm probably going to go into hiding for the next 6 months, so don't expect any posts!) and when I saw this on Fleur's blog I thought PERFECT! It's on sale at the moment so it's only £3!!! I got it in Coral Bliss and it's a gorgeous pinky colour, really really wearable and not sticky at all (my pet hate!).

Last but by no means least I had these two beauties through the letter box today!
My two major crushes, I was so excited! Miles Kane was the former front man of indie rock band The Rascals, and then formed The Last Shadow Puppets with Arctic Monkeys front man Alex Turner. This is his first solo album and it's AMAZING. I am really in love with his voice (I'm a sucker for scousers) and this album really does put a smile on my face.
Next up is ultimate god - Michael Buble. I can't really describe my love for the Buble, I've loved him since about 2007 and then seeing him live last year really sealed the deal. He really is in a league of his own, his voice is just incredible and melts me to the core. This album has really got me in the Christmas spirit, I don't care if it's too early!

Hope you enjoyed this! On another note, I'm sorry for not doing a Beauty Box post but I kind of feel like I've missed my chance as everyone else has put theirs up so it seems a little pointless - I always like to be one of the first ;)

P.S.
Just for those of you that don't follow me on twitter (@vicki_sweet follow me!) here's some gorgeous pictures of one of 8 cocker spaniel puppies that my Aunty's dog popped out a few weeks ago!

My favourite EMA Outfits

The EMA's were held at Belfast last night, and I thought I would share some of my favourite outfits of the night.

Jessie J in Dolce & Gabbana
This one is definitely my favourite! Her hair and make up looks absolutely gorgeous, and the dress is just stunning.

Selena Gomez in Marchesca
This is simply beautiful, Marchesca never get it wrong.

Hayden Panettiere in Tibi
So pretty and sophisticated.

What were your favourites?

Hope you all have a lovely weekend, can't believe it's Monday already!

And here's a bit of Bieber, just for good measure.

Foundation SOS

I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend so far. I kicked mine off by getting stupidly drunk with my best friend Jess, who came back this week after being posted on ship in Libya with the Navy back in June. We planned to have a civilised meal with a ton of wine, but this turned into a night of jager bombs, drunken run-ins with ex boyfriends and a hell of a lot of embarrassing dancing!
I think the text that woke me up this morning from Jess sums it all up - "Why did you let me text him last night like some kind of needy cougar" (regarding said ex boyfriend)

Anyway, back to sobriety!

I need your help! I've always had a bit of an issue with foundation, I just can't seem to get it right! I'm a huge fan of tinted moisturiser so I rarely wear much foundation, but I have an interview coming up at the end of the month for cabin crew (SO EXCITED!!) and I need to look flawless. I'm currently using the Benefit play stick, which is great but I won't be repurchasing as I bought it a month a go and it's nearly run out so definitely not worth the money. I love Benefit and swear by most of their products, but this is just too expensive for a months use.

I need your suggestions! What's your favourite foundation? Help help help!
